Associazione Amici di Italcable (Italy)

Associazione Amici di Italcable*, transmitting with an output power on 90 watts from Viareggio, Italy, was logged on 6 August 2014 from a remote SDR receiver in the Netherlands. Between 17.17 till 17.37 UTC, various genre of music was mixed up and under time pips, including Johann Pachebel's "Canon in D" at 17.18 UTC, Giuseppe Verdi's "Pilgrim's Chorus" at 17.26 UTC, Josef Strauss's "Feuerfest" at 17.37 UTC and other classical, jazz and pop tunes. Brief fax transmission was observed between pips and music, followed by a male announcer presenting the time on each minute. Station ID was noted in Italian at 17.30 UTC: "Italcable, stazione radio Italcable, trasmissionesperimentale del segnale orario, frequenza 10 megahertz. Il segnale viene inviato in modalita SRG. Per maggiori informazioni www.italcable.it . Locator JN53DV". Reception on 10 MHz (SINPO) was 34433 -- fair signal strength, fading, clear audio.

Reception report was emailed to Associazione Amici di Italcable the following day. QSL card arrived in the mail on 25 September 2014.
