QSL from FEBA Gawayelon Tibetan Radio

HONG KONG
Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK-3) is radiating well beyond Hong Kong to Malaysia, especially between 18.00 till 18.30 UTC. Reception is barely audible, but RTHK-3 time pips at 18.00 UTC, just before the news, is unmistakable. Secondly, classical (piano) music after the news is most certainly RTHK-3. All audio at the time was checked against their website's live stream, While RTHK-3 is mixing faintly under the more dominant broadcasters DXCH-AM or DWRP-AM (with religious programming) and AIR Dibrugarh, their signal is definitely present on 567 kHz (MW). Overall. reception rates a SINPO of 13221 -- poor signal strength when not fading (every few minutes) and mixing with stations. On previous occasions RTHK-3 has been observed mixing under NHK-1 (JOIK) and KBS-1 (HLKF), depending on propagation.

  1. T.L. I always enjoy viewing your QSL catches of the month and it is gratifying to see that 'real' QSLs are still bring produced by many outlets including the utilities.
I also note that many (all??) of your reports are submitted via e-mail, yet thet still reply with a paper card. Do you request a paper card in your report ... how does this work ?

Your linked sites on the right make for hours and hours of fascinating learning...good choices! One of them appears to be dead ...The Radio Kitchen link.

Have you considered posting a blog on The Art of QSLing?.

Thanks for your dedication to such a great part of the hobby.

    1. Hi Steve. Thank you for the kind words. There are indeed a few stations, especially in Asia, Europe and North America, who will QSL. Generally, I merely request a verification and leave it to the station to send their paper QSL or eQSL. The Radio Kitchen link I noticed som time back was dead, but have been slow to remove it. Pity, it was a nice site, well written and with great links. Will consider yoru posting. Thanks again for the read. 73, Timm
