Radio Taiwan International Calendar - May 2026 

Hope Radio 3 (Koror)

 

Hope Radio 3, transmitting from Koror, Palau, was logged on 28 April 2026. Music and evangelical Christian content was observed from 09.55 till 10.30 UTC. Reception on 9.930 kHz rated a SINPO of 45444. 

Reception report was emailed shortly after the broadcast on the same day.

Radio New Zealand Pacific

Radio New Zealand Pacific, transmitting from Rangitaiki, was received on 13 February 2026. SINPO on  9.700 kHz rated 45444. Content of broadcast from 16.55 till 17.20 UTC included  music, time pips, followed by ID in Pacific Island language and English  and news, including reports on weather, sports. This was followed with Pacific Island language mentioning Papua New Guinea and  Pacific Island music.

Reception report was initially emailed on the same day. On 17 April 2026, Adria Sainsbury advised I submit my report online using RNZ Pacific's revamped QSL form. An email and eQSL confirmation from Adrian Sainsbury was received shortly thereafter, and surprisingly it was a new eQSL design. Thank you very much, Adrian.

Voice of Turkiye

VOICE OF TURKIYE VERIFICATION (QSL) CARD featuring Zilkale Castle, which is located 15 km south of Çamlıhemşin,  stands on the western sloped of the Fırtına River. It once provided security for caravans traversing the medieval trade route. Three important structures remain within the castle: a guardhouse, a chapel and the main tower. Two cannons discovered in the castle are currently on display at the Trabzon Museum. The structure, which recently underwent restoration, commands a beautiful view overlooking the valley.

Voice of Turkiye, transmitting from Emirler, was logged  24 January 2026. A Persian language broadcast with  a sprinkling of Turkish pop music in between programmes was monitored from 16.30 till 17.00 UTC. Reception on 9.490 kHz rated a SINPO of 55555.

Radio Taiwan International

Radio Taiwan International, transmitting from Tamshui, was logged on 13 February 2026. An English language broadcast was monitored on 9.405 kHz, from 16.00 till 16.40 UTC.

Reception report was emailed on the following day. QSL card arrived in the mail on 30 March 2026.

RTM Nasional FM

RTM Nasional FM, transmitting from Kajang, Malaysia, was logged on 16 March 2026. A selection of Malaysian pop songs presented by a female DJ was observed from 03.35 till 03.45 UTC. Reception on 15.295 kHz rated a SINPO of 55555 (note QTH is about 40km northwest of the TX site). 

Reception report was emailed shortly afterwards on the same day. An eQSL card was received within 24 hours, on 17 March 2026.

Atlantic 2000 International (via Rohrbach)

Atlantic 2000 International, transmitting  from Rohrbach, Germany, was monitored on the shortwave frequency of 9.670 kHz with a SINPO of 45544, on 14 February 2026, from 09.05 till 09.30 UTC, here in the Kuala Lumpur area via remote SDR at Twente, Netherlands. 

A French and English language broadcast of music, including the Rolling Stones "Painted Black", Julien Clerc "Le Coeur Volcan", "My Year is a Day", "La Première fois qu'on s'aimera" performed by Michel Sardou and Sylvie Vartan, the Police "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" and Elton John "Island Girl".

Reception report was emailed shortly after the broadcast. An eQSL was received on 19 February 2026.

Radio Taiwan International (via Tamsui)

Radio Taiwan International, transmitting from Tamsui, broadcast a special programme on 22 January 2026, from 08.00 till 09.00 UTC. It featured students from Yilan Senior High School and the municipality of Vardø in northeastern Norway who talked about their country, school life and interests. Reception on the shortwave frequency of 15.150 kHz rated a SINPO of 25322 -- weak transmission, slight fading and moderate noise. Despite this occasion audio content was observed. Transmission improved gradually after 08.30 UTC. Signal was strongest after 08.45 UTC. HERE is an excerpt from this broadcast.

In addition to received their QSL for this broadcast, I received a souvenir lanyard and notepad. Thank you very much.

Slovensko Radiotelegraphy of Reverend Jozef Murgaš

Slovensko stamp issued in 1939 to commemorate the 10th death anniversary of the Reverend Jozef Murgaš (1864–1929), a Slovak inventor, architect, and botanist. The design incorporated communication towers, reflecting his work in radiotelegraphy.

Radio New Zealand Pacific

Radio New Zealand with Pacific Island news and music monitored on 9.700 kHz, at 16.55 till 17.25 UTC, on 13 February 2026.

USSR 15th Anniversary of the October Revolution with Radio Tower

 

Почта СССР (Post of the USSR) issued in October 1933 a postage stamp commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the October  Revolution (1917-1932). This grey coloured stamp with a face value of 30 kopeks featured a radio transmitter mast and globe to propagate the modernisation of the state to all Soviet people. The designer/ engraver was Ilya Alekseyevich Sokolov (1890-1968). The stamp was printed using a Collotype technique. It was gummed and had watermarks with meanders and flowers. It had a print run of 200,000.

This stamp was part of a larger 1933 collection called "Peoples of the USSR". This series was issued by Goznak to publicise the all-Union labour mobilisation and to articulate the vision of the peoples allocated roles in the Soviet economy. This and other Soviet  stamps in this series depicted different ethnic groups such as Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Turkmens, Tajiks, Belarusians, Russians, and Jews. The individuals shown on this specific stamp represented some of these typical nationalities participating in the building of socialism. 

That said, another source in my research claimed this Soviet stamp was the first to feature a portrait of a Chinese person (lower right corner). The Chinese man on the stamp was a staff member of a newspaper in Harbin, fluent in Russian. His duties included listening to Soviet radio programmes, then writing news articles for the newspaper. This stamp was issued in 1932 as part of a series commemorating the 15th anniversary of radio in the USSR.

Voice of Turkiye

VOICE OF TURKIYE VERIFICATION (QSL) CARD featuring the 18th century Azm Palace,  built by the Ottoman Governor Asad Pasha al-Azm, is one of the examples of civil architecture in Damascus. A masterpiece of traditional Syrian-Ottoman architecture, it is a typical example of a "Damascus House," combining harem and selamlık (reception) sections, spacious courtyards, and fountains that soothe with the sound of water. Although damaged in 2012 during the Syrian Civil War, it was restored through international efforts and reopened to visitors in 2019 as a symbol of cultural heritage.

Voice of Turkiye, transmitting from Emirler, English language radio broadcast was logged  26 November 2025. An English language broadcast of News, programmes "Power of Words", "Sports Panorama" and a sprinkling of Turkish pop music in between programmes was monitored from 17.26 till 18.23 UTC. Reception on 9.660 kHz rated a SINPO of 55555.

Trans World Radio (via Kununuwarra)

Trans World Radio via Kununuwarra, Western Australia was received on 26 November 2025. SINPO on the shortwave frequency of 11.964 kHz,  was 55555. An Indonesian broadcast of evangelical Christian content was observed from 9.40 till 10.00 UTC. HERE is TWR from  Kununuwarra. 

Reception report was submitted online and emailed on the following day. An eQSL arrived on 9 January 2026.
