Premier Radio International

Premier Radio International*, transmitting from the west coast of Ireland, was logged on 13 August 2014. A variety of music was noticed, including Paul McCartney and disco with frequent IDs between songs, from 19.50 to 21.15 UTC. Initial reception was on 6.940 kHz, but this proved very noisy with QRM and QRN. In fact, the DJ mentioned the poor propagation numerous times, even after retuning to 6.930 kHz. However, reception on 6.930 kHz was not much better at (SINPO) 34333 -- fair signal, audible and clear speech at times, despite being noisy. Transmitter was switched off at around 20.15 UTC.

Reception report was emailed to Premier Radio International. On 16 August 2014,  Jimmy at Premier Radio sent this eQSL and some pictures of the station.

He also passed along this message: "Many thanks for your reception report and great that you were listening in Malaysia. Premier Radio broadcasts from the west coast of Ireland. We are still testing on 6.910Khz which I think we may hold onto, This frequency holds memories of Radio Dublin - The good times! We also use 6.915/6.905 KHz if 6.910 KHz has utility/noise also 6.930/6.940/6.950/6.960 KHz are used depending on conditions. The TX  used is a PLL 75Watt into an X80 Dipole with MFJ ATU. Check out Premier Radio. ie for further info. Thanks again Timm, and I hope to hear from you soon. Best 73's, Jimmy, Premier Radio International."
