Misti Radio*, transmitting from the Netherlands, was logged on 11 March 2015. A broadcast of uninterrupted rock/pop classics, including Jay & The Americans - "Come A Little Bit Closer", Sam Cooke - "Bring It On Home To Me", Peter & Gordon - "A World Without Love", Cliff Richards - "Forever", Smokie Norful - "I Understand (Just How You Feel)", Beach Boys - "In My Room", The Monkees - "Daydream Believer", station ID and DJ chatting, then Harry Nilsson's - "Everybody's Talking" was played, from 18.20 till 18.45 UTC.

Reception on 6.290 kHz was (SINPO) 34343 -- fair signal strength and clear audio despite occasional utilty QRM and constant atmospheric noise.

Radio Scotland International*

Radio Scotland International*, transmitting from the Netherlands, was logged on 7 March 2015. A mostly Dutch language and Dutch music selection was noted in a short test transmission from 18.05 till 18.15 UTC. Reception on 6.292 kHz was (SINPO) 44444 -- good signal strength and clear audio, despite slightly over-modulated audio on voice transmission.

The owner/operator of Radio Scotland International in verifying this transmission emailed that it "was a short test, after solving a problem with one of the transformers." He went on to say his transmitter was "home brew with a ceramic tube in the end stage, type 4CX150. Output: 1 KW (carrier). Antenna: 1/4 wave dipole, at a height of only 10 meters."

Voice of Turkey

Voice of Turkey, transmitting from Emirler, was logged on 8 March 2015. An English language broadcast, featuring a Special Woman's Day programme, Foods of the Court, Today in History, Eco-friendly Tips, Question of the Month and Turkish pop music was monitored  from 23.00 till 23.30 UTC (broadcast time 23.00 till 23.55 UTC).

Reception at this time on 5.960 kHz was less than favorable, and certainly not targeted to Southeast Asia. Nevertheless SINPO was 13321 -- weak to poor signal, yet audible despite interference from PBS Xinjiang and fading. As grey-line disappeared between Turkey and Malaysia, reception worsened and PBS Xinjiang pretty much dominated the frequency; Voice of Turkey by 23.20 UTC was only faintly and occasionally audible, then completely overshadowed after 23.30 UTC.

Radio Romania International

Radio Romania International, transmitting from Tiganesti, was logged on 7 March 2015. An English language broadcast featuring a special on Romanian actors, DX Mailbag and jazz performed by Romanian artists was observed from 18.35 till 18.57 UTC (broadcast time 18.00 till 18.57 UTC). Reception on 9.780 kHz was (SINPO) 34343 -- fair signal strength, clear and audible despite minor fading and atmospheric noise.

Radio Nikkei 1

Radio Nikkei 1 in Chiba-Nagara, Japan was logged on 6 March 2015. A selection of American jazz, a current events report on Buddhism in Japanese and Japanese pop music was observed from 22.55 till 23.30 UTC. Reception on 9.595 kHz was (SINPO) 33433 -- poor to fair signal with clear audio despite some fading and QRM splatter from an adjacent station. Reception would have been better if not for the QRM. Transmission worsened after 23.20 to 23432.

Radio Nikkei 1 and 2 is heard regularly in Malaysia, usually best in the evenings, after 12.00 UTC. In the mornings, around 22.00 UTC, the station is noted as well. Terrible QRM splatter occurs at 23.00 UTC when China Radio International signs on, some 5Hz down at 9.590 kHz.

Reception report was emailed to Radio Nikkei on 7 March 2015. I have received QSLs for Radio Nikkei 1 and 2 on various frequencies over the years, several times, and they remain a good and prompt verifier. My intent here is to obtain their most recent QSL card. Bingo! Received the QSL card I was looking for on 18 March 2015.

Radio Spaceshuttle International

Radio Spaceshuttle International, transmitting somewhere from (eastern) Europe in a special broadcast, was logged on 1 March 2015. Station interval and occasional IDs between English and Finnish Rock music, including the Ramones' "Rock-n-Roll on the Radio", was heard from 18.00 till 18.30 UTC (broadcast time 18.00 till 19.00 UTC). 

Reception on 9.600 kHz was (SINPO) 34333 -- fair to good signal strength, clear and audible despite minor fade and atmospheric noise. Transmitter carrier signal was present, but no audio feed has received. It remained so even after 18.40 UTC.

Radio Samuray*

Radio Samuray*, transmitting from Italy, was logged on 1 March 2015. Station interval (a flute and bell tune), with occasional data transmission and IDs between several R&B/dance tracks was observed from 08.00 to 08.30 UTC. Reception on 6.870 kHz was (SINPO) 55444 -- excellent signal strength, clear and audible transmission, despite atmospheric noise.
