FRS Holland* aired a special 40th Anniversary programme on 30 August 2020. DJ Scott was observed hosting a retrospective of oldies music, off-shore radio (Sunshine Radio) broadcasts and talked about FRS's history. For my part, I monitored the transmission from 17.40 till 18.30 UTC.
Reception was detected on the short-wave frequencies of 7.700 kHz and 5.790 kHz. However, I found 7.700 kHz to be the best. SINPO for 5.790 kHz at 17.45 UTC was 34323 -- despite fading, atmospheric disturbance, poor to fair signal strength, clear audio content. SINPO for 7.700 kHz at 18.00 UTC was 55555. Inasmuch as FRS Holland could not be received directly in Malaysia for this broadcast, I resorted to using the remote SDR receiver located in a Netherlands.
Reception report was emailed to FRS Holland on the following day. An eQSL and message from Peter Verbruggen was received on 16 September 2020.
*RX: Remote SDR ANT: Mini whip QTH: Malaysia via Twente University in Enschede, Netherlands
