BBC in a medium-wave test transmission from the SLBC facility in Trincomalee was logged on 20 March 2019. Brief BBC interval, time pips and BBC News Hour was monitored from 14.00 till 14.30 UTC. Transmission ended abruptly without announcement, followed by AWR Tamil broadcast at 14.30 UTC. Reception on 1548 kHz rated a SINPO of 54544 -- strong signal and clear audio content with slight fading approximately every 10-12 minutes. Even then, signal remained audible. Reception report was emailed to SLBC and Victor Goonetilleke on the following day. QSL card arrived on 18 June 2019. While the card is smudged and dog-eared at the bottom, I know for a fact it was not when it left the veri-signer. Despite the blemish, this is one of the beauty marks of a QSL card; one sees the card for what it is and how it travelled across the globe to reach one's destination.
