Trans World Radio Europe (via Moosbrunn)

Trans World Radio Europe, transmitting from Moosbrunn (Austria), was logged on 7 June 2015. A Russian language programme of mostly talk and some music was heard from 14.00 to 14.28 UTC. Reception on 9.470 kHz (SINPO) 15431 -- poor to weak signal, atmospheric noise, audible speech present when signal did not fade out. Reception began to improve gradually after 14.15 UTC, but still weak. Interestingly, TWR Europe via Nauen operates on 7.300 kHz at the same time too, but no signal was detected in Malaysia.

Reception report was email and submitted online on 7 June 2015. TWR Europe was previously QSLed  from Wertachtal and Moosbrunn in 2011. An eQSL for the above tranission was received on 30 July 2015.

Trans World Radio Africa (via Manzini)

Trans World Radio Africa, transmitting from Manzini, Swaziland, was logged on  6 June 2015. A Yao language broadcast of music and commentary from a male announcer was heard, as well as station interval just before sign-off, from 17.00 till 17.30 UTC. Reception on 7.300 kHz was (SINPO) 24332 -- weak but audible signal, long fades, atmospheric noise and station splatter on adjacent frequencies.

Reception report was submitted on-line on 6 June 2015. Have logged TWR Africa many times and received eQSLs in the past. My intent here was to receive their latest eQSL. TWR Africa via Swaziland was previously QSLed in June 2010. Lorraine Stravropoulos at TWR Africa replied with their 40th Anniversary eQSL and broadcast schedule on 8 June 2015.

China Radio International (via Bamako)

China Radio International, transmitting from Bamako, Mali, was logged on 2 June 2015. A Hausa language broadcast was heard from 18.00 till 18.30 UTC, followed by Arabic at 18.30 UTC. Reception on 11.640 kHz was (SINPO): 44544 -- excellent signal and clear audio, despite transmitter hum and slight, fluttering fade. CRI has apparently rectified the transmitter issues at the Bamako site, which previously radiated a strong carrier with poor audio.

Reception report was emailed to CRI on 3 June 2015. Later in the afternoon I received an email from CRI, saying: "Thank you for your reception report. We will send you a QSL card." QSL card and paper cuttings from CRI arrived on 18 June 2015.

Vatican Radio (via Talata Volonondry)

Vatican Radio, transmitting from Talata Volonondry, Madagascar, was logged on 2 June 2015. An English language news magazine, highlighting current event reports in East Africa, was monitored from 17.40 till 17.58 UTC (broadcast time 17.30 till 17.58 UTC). Reception on the short-wave frequency of 11.625 kHz was (SINPO) 35433 -- fair signal, audible and discernible speech,  despite significant atmospheric noise and fading.

Reception report was emailed to Vatican Radio on 3 June 2015. Later in the afternoon I received an email from Vatican Radio, saying: "Thank you for the report. I have sent you the requested QSL card confirming the listening." QSL card and stickers arrived in the mail on 22 June 2015. 

Voice of Turkey

Voice of Turkey in Emirler was logged on 2 June 2015.  An English language broadcast of Turkish and regional news, Turkish Press Review, Turkish Folk Songs, Turkish Fairy Tales, Eco-Friendly Tips and Question of the Month was heard from 16.30 till 17.25 UTC. Reception on the short-wave frequency of 15.520  kHz was (SINPO) 55555 -- perfect!!!

Reception report was emailed to Voice of Turkey on 3 June 2015. QSL card with coaster and transmission schedule arrived in the mail on 24 June 2015.

Adventist World Radio (via Moosbrunn)

Adventist World Radio, transmitting from Moosbrunn, Austria, was logged on 2 June 2015. A Turkish language broadcast containing contemporary Christian music and commentary from a female announcer was observed from 15.00 till 15.30 UTC. Reception  on 11.935 kHz was (SINPO) 55444 -- excellent signal strength and clear audio despite slight atmospheric noise and fluttering fade.

Reception report was emailed on 3 June 2015. QSL card arrived in the mail on 14 September 2015.

Radio New Zealand International

Radio New Zealand International, transmitting from Rangitaiki, New Zealand, was logged on 1 June 2015.  RNZI news and IDs, followed by blues and jazz music, then lastly a "Dateline Pacific" report on ecology was monitored from 10.00 till 10.58 UTC, Their famed bell-bird interval closed the frequency before 11.00 UTC. Reception on 9.700 kHz was not particularly impressive. SINPO rated 25342 -- poor to fair signal strength with atmospheric noise being the primary culprit. Otherwise, the frequency was clear and content of transmission audible and occasionally discernible.

Reception report was emailed  and posted on 1 June 2015.  An eQSL indeed was received on 4 June 2015.
