China Tibet Broadcasting (via Lhasa)

China Tibet Broadcasting transmitting from  Lhasa, Tibet (Xizang) was logged on 22 April 2019. English programming of news and cultural information on Tibet was heard from 16.20 till 16.50 UTC (broadcast time 16.00 till 17.00 UTC). Reception (SINPO) on 4.905 kHz rated  34343; (SINPO) on 4.920 kHz rated 43443. HERE is China Tibet Broadcasting.

Reception report was emailed on the following day. An email was received in late May promising a QSL in a month or two. A QSL card, along with a postcard of the Lhasa monastery and decorative envelope, arrived in the mail on the following month, 21 June 2019. Not bad considering years ago a QSL card to Malaysia never arrived after numerous attempts. So, I had it posted to an address in the United States and the card arrived at that address.

All India Radio Jeypore (Odisha Orissa)

All India Radio Jeypore in  Odisha Orissa (India) was heard on 12 February 2019. Indian music, advertisements and national news was observed from 17.00 till 17.42 UTC. Reception on the medium-wave frequency of 1467 kHz, here in the Kuala Lumpur area,  rated a SINPO of 34433 -- signal strength was fair to good depending on duration of fading. Otherwise signal was audible most of time with occasionally discernible speech. HERE is an audio excerpt from this broadcast.

Reception report was emailed on the following day. QSL card arrived in the mail on 19 June 2019.

WBCQ - The Planet (via Monticello)

WBCQ - The Planet, transmitting from Monticello, Maine (USA), was logged  on 18 June 2019. Talk Show with dialogue/interview and occasional filler music was monitored from 09.30 till 10.00 UTC. Reception on 9.330 kHz rated an SINPO of 15321 -- weak signal, audible content occasionally clear and some fading under atmospheric noise. For over a week, reception has been "best" around 09.30 up till slightly after 10.00 UTC. I assume this is due to grey-line phenomenon which allows WBCQ's signal to radiate through the southern hemisphere to reach Malaysia.  HERE and HERE is WBCQ (Monticello).

Reception report was emailed to Allan Weiner on the same day. He repliend within a few hours with an eQSL. To obtain the actual QSL card, which I did in 2012, one needs to mail the reception report with  SASE. This was done a day later on 19 June 2019.

BBC Test Transmission (via Trincomalee)

BBC in a medium-wave test transmission  from the SLBC facility in Trincomalee was logged on 20 March 2019. Brief BBC interval, time pips and BBC News Hour was monitored from 14.00 till 14.30 UTC. Transmission ended abruptly without announcement, followed by AWR Tamil broadcast at 14.30 UTC. Reception on 1548 kHz rated a SINPO of 54544 -- strong signal and clear audio content with slight fading approximately every 10-12 minutes. Even then, signal remained audible. Powerful signal later at night!!! HERE is BBC (Trincomalee).

Reception report was emailed to SLBC and Victor Goonetilleke  on the following day. QSL card arrived on 18 June 2019. While the card is smudged and dog-eared at the bottom, I know for a fact it was not when it left the veri-signer. Despite the blemish, this is one of the beauty marks of a QSL card; one sees the card for what it is and how it travelled across the globe to reach one's destination. Thank you for obtaining this verification from SLBC for me, Victor!

Voice of Turkey

Voice of Turkey via Emirler was logged on 3 May 2019. Turkish programming with Sports Talk was monitored from 16.25 till 17.00 UTC. Reception on 9.460 kHz  was SINPO 24322 - poor signal strength, occasionally clear audio content, despite fading and atmospheric noise.

Reception report was emailed the following day. QSL card along with frequency/time/target schedule arrived in the mail on 18 June 2019.

China National Radio 1 (via Yushu)

China National Radio 1 / PBS via Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Quinghai Province, China was logged on 5 March 2019. Chinese programming, mostly talk format, mixing under Radio Taiwan International was monitored from 14.10 till 14.30 UTC. Reception on the short-wave frequency of 6.075 kHz was SINPO 12431 -- weak signal strength, with strong co-frequency QRM from Radio Taiwan International, yet still audible underneath RTI. HERE is CNR (Yushu) station ID mixing under RTI.

Reception report was mailed to CNR a few days later. I submitted the report using a Goggle English to Mandarin translation, thinking this would secure a QSL. Subsequent to this, I have been told by a fellow DXer that an English language report is sufficient as well. That said, this much prized QSL card from CNR arrived in the mail on 13 June 2018.
