Voice of America (via Meyerton)

Voice of America, transmitting from Meyerton (South Africa), was received on 23 March 2019. A English language programme called "South Sudan Focus" included news/current event reports about South Sudan, Sudan and Africa at large.from 16.30 till 17.00 UTC. Reception on the short-wave frequency of 11.850 kHz initially at sign-on was SINPO: 24321 -- weak signal, occasionally  audible content, atmospheric noise and some fading. By 16.40 UTC, signal was barely audible, occasionally fading under atmospheric noise, earning  a SINPO of 14221.

Reception report was emailed on the following day. This eQSL was received on 26 March 2019. Hopefully a similar paper QSL card will arrive in the mail later.

As most DXers know the SENTEC Meyerton facility will cease operation on 31 March 2019. A few days remain should one wish to catch this once great transmitter site. The VOA QSL in itself is quite unique. 73.
