Logbook for 12 - 15 September 2017

ENGLAND
KBS World Radio via Woofferton was logged on the short-wave frequency of 12.065 kHz with a SINPO of 44434 -- good signal strength, clear audio content despite occasional atmospheric scratchiness when signal faded under the noise. News and traditional Korean music in this Russian language service was observed from 18.10 till 19.00 UTC (broadcast time 18.00 till 19.00 UTC). HERE's KBS World Russian service.

Radio Taiwan International via Woofferton was logged on the short-wave frequency of 6,185 kHz with SINPO of  45434 - good signal strength, clear audio content despite atmospheric noise with occasional and slight fade. "Nachtrichten", "Business News" and  "Schlagzeilen der Woche"  in a German language broadcast  was observed from 19.00 till 20.00 UTC. HERE's RTI German service.

PHILIPPINES
DZEM-AM, with a powerful signal out of Manila, Philippines, was logged around 20.15 UTC and well after 21.00 UTC with talk/music format and frequent station IDs on 1530 kHz. SINPO rated 44434.

THAILAND
Sathaanii Witthayu Krajaisiang Siang Saam Yot ('Voice of Three Spires', Crime Suppression Division, Royal Thai Police), transmitting from Lat Phrao District, Bangkok, was received after 19.00 UTC with mixed format of talk and Thai pop songs. Reception on 1179 kHz (MW) was strong, with occasional fading -- long enough to detect a co-frequency broadcaster, possibly Mainichi Hoso (MBS / JOOR) in Osaka, Japan. Overall, SINPO rated 44433.
