Eighties Radio*

Eighties Radio* in a test transmission was logged on 16 May 2016. Dance music from the late 70s, 80s and 90s, along with frequent station IDs and request for reception reports, was monitored from 14.30 till 15.00 UTC. Reception on 6.040 kHz was (SINPO) 35433 -- fair signal strength with clear audio despite occasionally terrible and noisy fading.

Reception report was emailed on the same day. Mark Hanson, Chief Engineer for Eighties Radio, replied a day later, saying: "We will continue broadcasting on 6.040 kHz for the next couple of days. We have to evaluate our equipment somehow to make sure everything is fine. Would appreciate some more reports when conditions improve on the 49mB, hopefully soon! Information and eQSL will follow. This is just an instant answer. Thanks for tuning in." An eQSL was received on 9 July 2016.
