NHK World - Radio Japan (via Tashkent)

NHK World - Radio Japan, transmitting from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, was logged on 4 October 2014. Content of English language programming from 14.00 to 14.30 UTC included station ID, followed by news about recovery of bodies from volcano site in Japan, IS execution of British national and deployment of Canadian forces and talks between two Koreas, which was presented by female and male (David Crystal) newscasters; up next wasJapan Hit Tunes, including the songs "Tokyo Victory", "Darling", "Keep on the Straight" (a traditional Japanese tune) and "Last Scene", hosted by male (Jeff Otto) and female (Michelle) announcers. Transmission ended at 14.30 UTC. Reception on 15.735 kHz was (SINPO) 54555 - excellent signal strength and clear audio despite minor "droning" transmitter QRM which disappeared mid-way into the broadcast.
Reception report was submitted on-line at NHK World - Radio Japan. QSL card arrived in mail on 29 October 2014.
