XTC (Xenon Transmitting Company) Shortwave*, the long running and rarely heard free radio station in the UK, was logged on 25 August 2014. Lengthy chats from the DJ between songs, including "Watch You Below", "Wishing Ring" and similar alternative/prog rock music, was heard from 19.00 till 19.33 UTC. Reception on 6.244 kHz was (SINPO) 33333 -- fair signal strength, despite a lot of utility QRM and fading. Signal was overwhelmed by utility QRM at 19.33 UTC, but in a spot check at 19.45 UTC signal was observed again under the same conditions.
Reception report was emailed on same day, with follow up on 26 August 2014. By the end the day, Matt at XTC sent this eQSL and message: "Thanks for your reception report of the Xenon Transmitting Company (XTC) when we were broadcasting on 6244kHz. It is great to get a report from Malaysia, even if it was via the Twente SDR. We have been broadcasting on the shortwave bands since 1993. I hope you like the eQSL card, and please keep listening to the hobby pirates! 73s."
